Winter Pride KICKSTART is a pre-festival celebration for those keen party-goers already in town and raring to go on Thursday August the 22nd. Reconnect with old friends, make some new ones, and start planning your perfect Winter Pride festival experience. We’ve got resident dishing up great tunes all night, delicious drinks on tap and good company to boot!We also have a Drag Queen host to welcome you and get some stunning photos with! KICKSTART also serves as a great opportunity to meet the Winter Pride crew - catch our team members floating around to touch base and ask any questions you may have about the upcoming week. We can’t wait to meet you. We’ll be starting up our festival in style with this gig with our new venue to be announced! R18 Event. The party starts at 7pm.       Today's Mountain is Cardrona. It's our first Winter Pride day on the slopes! Join us for an epic on-mountain day to kick off Winter Pride 2024. For the first time ever we are starting our festival adventures off at the incredible Cardrona. Rainbow flags will be flying proud, and the team will be ready to welcome guests from all over the world to a day filled with colour. As the first full day of Winter Pride, our Opening Day is the perfect time to meet new people and connect with old friends alike. Even if you don’t ski or board, come up to the slopes for coffee, lunch, or sightseeing, and enjoy the atmosphere filled with pride. And don't forget to drop in for a boogie with our Winter Pride DJ in our pride zone from 12 noon till 2pm on the main deck. Nothing like a little dance at lunchtime to get you reset and energised for a great afternoon on the snow. Please note that your ticket to this event does not include a mountain pass, gear hire or transportation to or from the mountain. You will need to organise these yourself. For your mountain pass to access the lifts, go to the Cardrona website. For a bus pass, you can add this on when you buy your ski pass on The Cardrona site. For ski and board hire, use Browns Ski Shop and use WPRIDE23 for a 20% discount. After being such a successful event last year weve decided to hold these on nights before our parties, meaning if you don't know many people going that night, come and make a few new friends. These events for anyone attending Winter Pride to connect, mix and mingle with others so you know people when you head out to events and have a network of awesome people throughout the festival. Both events are full mixed events all genders, sexualities and queerness under the rainbow. All proceeds from speed mixers go directly to Winter Prides chosen charity (TBC for 2024).       Move your body this Winter Pride! Head down to Alpine Health and Fitness for a joyful, challenging and fun rainbow-friendly cycle class. An expert facilitator will guide you through the Les Mills programme that will definitely have you working up a sweat! RPM mimics riding outside to the beat of some great uplifting music. In just 45 minutes, you’ll be ready to hit Queenstown with a glide in your stride. Don’t forget to come along wearing your rainbow colours! For this special pride class, entry is only $10! A huge discount on Alpine’s usual $20 casual class price. To book a spot, attendees will need to register after 1 August by emailing qec@qldc.govt.nz and put Pride Bookings in the subject line. Payment only required on arrival. Please arrive at least five minutes early. There is plenty of parking available. Alpine Health and Fitness is located at the Queenstown Events Centre (Joe O’Connell Drive, Frankton).
