From the vocoder to the synthesiser, electronic music has always embraced and been at the forefront of technological innovation. As the decade progresses massive shifts are impacting the way that music is produced, performed, consumed and experienced. 

On July 1st 2025 Waveform is pleased to invite individuals and enthusiasts from across the electronic music industry to the EICC in Edinburgh.

Waveform is a groundbreaking conference welcoming artists, producers, technologists and enthusiasts to explore innovation and change in the field. The exciting conference will paint a picture of the future of a genre that has championed change and will also offer answers to timely questions around topics such as creative ownership and integrity. 

From AI-generated soundscapes, new production software, vocal synthesis technology to real-time performance tools, Waveform will provide insights and raise questions around the opportunities and challenges presented by the world of technology and its impact on the musical arts. The schedule includes, but is not limited to:

• Discussions on the role of AI in production, sound design and DJing

• The future of live performance

• Product demonstrations

• New ethical and legal explorations related to music and sound production
